SATISFACTORY SHIPMENT,
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last night.
To show how the export of poultry to England Is progressing, it may be stated that the New Zealand Loan and Mercan-
tile Agenoy Co. Ltd., were approaohed some time ego by the poultry expert, and they agreed to undertake a shipment of poultry to England. This Company has recently received from London the returns of the first shipments of 447 duoklings and 36 chickens. The ohequos for the net prooeeds have been sent to the shippers. Ducklings realised in London 3s 21 to 4s ] per bird, and, after deducting all charges at Auokland and London, on an average they bring to the shipper 2s 6d per bird. I The parcel of ohickens shipped, though very email, and not in the best of condition, realised 2s on the Louden market, I aod after taking off London and Auckland oharges left to the shipper Is 6d per head. These returns are very satisfactory, as birds from Auokland are new on tho I London maikst, aod have yet to get their reputation. They are apparently suo- I ceeding in this, as rep:rts reoeived frem London on tho birds s;e»k very highly of them.
