In the new Chamber of Deputies jesterI day, M. SarrieD, Premier, outlined the [ programme of the Government. He said I that the Government favored the extension I of the right to form trade onions to officials lin State employ, bat it would not allow offioials to strike. The Government favoted the readjustment of taxation, distinguishing between iooome from capital and income from labor. It intended to fix hours of work with a weettly day of reßt. In fntnre miniDg oonoessions would seonre to workmen a share of the profits obtained from mines. Referring to France’s example of international conciliation, he hoped the progress of universal opinion would permit Ibe Powers to regard as possible the diminishing of milttaty burdens.
