K&ITI-OITY V. WEST END.

These dubs met in the seocnl round, West End winning somewhat easily by 18 poin's to 5. The play throughout was patchy, and at times over hard. The wet ball and the heavy ground was all in favor of West End, who had a splendid set of forward?. The Haiti City rearguard showed a great lack of combination, pro bably due to tho unfavorable weather con. ditions. Poukoo, Nolan, Sohraff, Robinson, and Erekana showed the best form. The forwards worked well, but their tackliDg-was decidedly poor. Harcourt, Breingan, Wells, and Willock were the most notioeable in stemming the onslaughts o! the West End vanguard. The West End backs were safe, Rowe, as usual, doing a huge amount of woik, He was in all parts of the field at onoe, but always in his right plaoe when wantad. The vanguard all played well. They aro a solid lot, and on tho ball all the time. A feature of the play was the sudden manner in whioh they got down on the Ka’ti City baoks and smothered their retarns. Pine, Wepiha, Tier, and Stewart were the pick, Tries were scared for West End by Eewe (2), Brown, and Wepiha, Robinson converting two aDd iVepiba one. Robinson scored for HaitiCity, Erekana oonvertiog. Mr R. G. Hallamore had charge of the whistle. TAKITIMU V. HUIA.

Both the oonotry teams were weakly represented, and had to recruit largely from their juniors. The game resulted in a win for Takitimu by 6 points to 0. Mr W. Gibson controlled the game.
