SUNDAY TRADING.
(Par Press Anoelatfoa.)' Dunedin, last night. A conference was held to day between the Executive of the Oouneil of Ghurobes aud members of the city and surrounding districts concerning Sunday trading, especially with obiidren. The Rev. Mr Sannders said that since pubiioity had been given to the tra ter it was found the praot’ce was carried on in many district?. In one case in tbe noith end of the city a dozen children were found seated before a counter with glasses before them containing non intoxicating liquor, and smoking cigarettes. It was suggested by members that a big deputation wait on the Premier as early as possible, and bripg the matter i under bis notice. It was (bought a one clause Bill would meat the ease, or amending the Polioe Offences Act by etriuing oat the words wbioh make it necessary that a sale should be 11 in sight of tbe publio.” Members promised to do all they could to assist in tho matter of putting down Sunday trading.
