MR DIMOOK'S OPINION.

Mr Dimock, manager of the large looal bacon-ouriDg faotory, states that in only three out of 47 curing business faotories of the oolony is slaughtering conducted under Government supervision, and he disbelieves any statement of corrupt dealings ebiut Government iespretors. Some of these were in Tara naki, which be alleges is the worst district in tho colony he knew of for tuberculosis There was twins the amount of disease in swinß as in cattle. Hi urged that nil pigs kil'ei should be under the supervision of inspectors. As to the allegation that diseased pork was sold in the looal market, he had seen only reoently twelve carcases exposed for sale, two of which be noted wore badly infected with tuberculosis. His experienoa of Government inspection was that it was thorough and effective, and it was to be regretted all meat for human consumption was not so inspected.
