AUCKLAND MEETING.,-
1(P«G Ftosa Association.) Auokland, last night. The weather has been fine all day, and there are good prospeots of it continuing fine to-morrow, when the Great Northern Meeting will be inaugurated at Ellerslie. Nineteen horses still remain in the Great Northern Hurdle Raoe, and it is anticipated that 14 will go to the posff Oa all hands the issued is regarded as very open. Cavalry, Hydrant, Exmoor, Romany King, and SiJioia have eaoh a very strong following. It is generally thonght that Cavalry will Btart favorite.
[(Special to Times-.). Auckland, last night. The Gisborne horse Medallius jarred bis leg yesterday, and it is improbable he will be a starter in the Great Northern Hurdles, but if sufficiently recovered Ihe owner Btatßß he will start in the Maiden Steepleohaße and in the Northern Steeplechase on Monday. Hydrant is considered to have a good chance for the Hurdles, and Sol and Haydn for the Stsepleohase. Miss King, Aba Aka, Fiorio, Convoy, Weary Bill, Medallius, Ability, Lady Hune, Durable, Oryx, Baritone are all likeiy to be scratched for the Hurdles to-morrow. For the fiat raoes Trephine, Leonator, and Sonoma should be well forward.
