SOME NATIVES SURRENDER.

Pietermaritzburg, May 29. Ukikwa, Siganandi’s prinoipal induna, with six followers, has surrendered to Colonel Maekonzio. Some others are preparing to surrender. The rebels were foraging for food outside tho forost, and loyal natives, on their own initiative, drove them back, killing and wounding Bevoral.

Colonol Leuchars’ two squadrons of Umooti Mounted Riflaß ptoctoded to Bokinyoni Hill, on the Zululand side of the Buffalo river, and surprised a party of rebels, killing eight. Co'onol Leuchars force oamped on tho hill. Bibindi’s impi joining him on tho hill, they wore attacked at half-past five in tho morning by 600 fakirs, Mebloka Zulus, and Mount Elis rebels, who were approaohing undor good oover. When the enemy reached within 50 yards they received a heavy rifle fire and retreated. Fifty-seven natives were killed in the fight, and thirteen more in the subsequent pursuit. , One rifleman wbb killed, and three other whites wounded. The friendlies fought exoellenlly, and expelled the enemy from a donga, where they were sheltering. Colonel Leuchars returned to Keant K°p. '
