The criminal sittings were resumed today befoie Mr Justice Cooper, whrn Alf, Walker Cooper was found guilty of stealing money, and eentec.ca was dtfeired. Willitm Hornby and Tnornas McNamara were acquitted of a charge of Mealing rabbit ekms, the jury finding there was npt sufficient evidenoo of identification of the property. The Bkins alleged to be stolen were valued at £29, and it was shown accused had eold skins to the value of £29.
Whangarei, last night. The Supreme Court opened to day beforo tho Chief Juatioe. Richard Howell was acquitted on a obarge of robbery under arms.
Greymouth, last m'ght. At the Haibor Board meeting to-day nine tenders were received for the wharf extension contract, and the tendor of McLeaD, of Wellington, was aooepted, the pries beiog £5031 6s.
