At the resumed inquest on John Madeley, wbo died at the hospital last week from injuries to his heal, a verdict was returned of death from cerebral hemorrhage, following on an operation for in juries, with no evidence to show how the injuries ooourred. The evideDoe pointed to deceased having fallen off bis horse while drunk.
Palmerston North, last night.
An inquiry iato tbe ciroumstsnoes surrounding the death of tbe late 0. Hosking, a victim of the recant ptomaine poisoning case, opened this morning, and was adjourned for a week, tha Health Department not being ready with an analysis of tbe contents of deceased's stomach, upon wbioh Professor McLaurin is engaged.
