(Per Press Association.) Duuedin, last night. The City Counoil to-night appointed C. F. Alexander, of Brisbane, as tramway manager. Dawse’s co9oh factory was destroyed by fire this afternoon The building was of ga'vemsed iron, and was insured iu the United Company for £2OO. A tenroomed house adjoining, owned by T. B. Davis, coutructor, was slightly damaged. It was insured in the Norwich Union for £3UO and the c-ff oti for £l5O. Dawse’s taps were in auttaer building, and were not destroyed.
