Sydney, May 21. The High Court, in lover.dog the Supreme Court decision, held that a publio lens does not como within the moaning of *• a placs ” in the Bolting House Suppression Act. The effeot of the judgment is to declare street betting is not unlawful. The Chief Justioe, in delivering judgment, said : •• Probably it may be wry desirable to put down that sort of betting—very likely it is ; but that is the business of tbe Legislature, not of the Courts of Juslice.” Tho oaee is governed by Powell versus llempton Park Raoeoourse Company, aod defendant is not proved to have committed any offeree against the State,
