MAKING HISTORY.

WOMEN SUFFRAGISTS HISS BRITISH PREMIER,

By telegraph, Press Ajss’n, Copyright

London, May 20. Sir H. C. Bannemism, replying to a deputation of live hundred and fifty women suffragists, who waited upon him at the Foreign Office with a manifesto representing seven hundred and fifty thousand signatures, said the deputation was conclusive evidence of an irrefutable case. The Government, however, were not united as to the expediency of acting in the matter, and he must preach patience.

The Premier’s reply was hissed. Meetings of protest were subsequently held on the Thames Embankment, and in Trafalgar Square.
