George Cleary, alias Clarke, was to day committed to the Supreme Court for sentenoe on several changes of forgery and false pretences. An arrangement was arrived at a day or iwo ago at a conference of sawmillers regarding the se’ling price of building rimu. The price ruling, 12s 6d, was reduced to 11s 2d, a drop of Is 41 per hundred feet.
The body of John Huneon, a laborer, 50 yoars of Bge, was found in tho river at Lower Hutt to night, with a bag of atones tied round tho neck, He had been drinking.
