DEPUTATION TO BRITISH PREMIER.

London, May 19 Sir U. Campbell Bannerman received a deputation of members cf the Hous9 of Commons, Messrs Seeley, Maekirhep, Lehmann, T. Russell, and Da'ziel, regarding Chinese on the Raud. Tho proceed, ings were secret, but it is understood they arged that Government forcibly repatriate the Chinese in batohes eiDce the proclamation was resultleßs.
The Daily Chronicle states that a policy of clean sweep iB impossible. It would crests an econom’o crisis and inflict grave injury on the innocent. It would bo better to await the new Government’s deoißion, wbioh would probably deoide for repatriation.
