Now, that is the worst mpntl) in the year to make a 1 change, while next tq December the best 1 is the end of September, I should, therefore, be willing to keep in charge of the secondary department till then, if the Committee and Board would prefer it. I may say that it is with very mixed feel mgs that I make Ihe announcement of my retirement from the teaching profession. I have spent a large slice of my life in it, and on the whole I have had a satisfactory time. 1 should like through your committee to record my appreciation of the almost, invariable courtesy with which I have been treated by all the members of the various boards and committees with whom I have been concerned during tile last eighteen years. In conclusion, I should like to express my good wishos for the eoutinued success and prosperity of flip Gisborne ,School. I am not leaving the town, and if in lime to come I find myself in a position to do a litilo in furtherance of such success.
