A special meeting of the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce to night considered the terms of the Pavapava and Taranaki foreshore ironsand lease from Government. A resolution was carried expressing the hope that Government and Parliament will eliminate clause 14 in the Parapara lease which enables Government to purchase back iron leases with machinery, etc., as such a clause is interfering with the establishment of a great industry which would benefit the whole colony. It was decided to ask the Mayor of New Plymouth to call a public meeting on the stupe subject.
