RICE’S DRAMATIC COMPANY. " ABJtAH-NA-PqGUE.” There was a large attendance at Hia Majesty’s Theatre last evening on the occasion of the production by the Rice Dramatic Company of the Irish drama, " Arrah»na Pogue,” The p’ece, which is from the pen of the late Dion Bouoicauff, is familiar to our readers, and in tho hands of Mr Rice’s capable company it received a most successful interpretation. The easte was an exceptionally strong one, eaoh member being folly equal Tq the demand of bis or her part. Miss Raohel Rice scored a d.stiqct success as Fanny Power, actiog in a most graceful manner throughout, and she fully deserved the enthusiastio ricrption which was acoorded her. Mies Ray Nelson as Arrah Mcelish (Arrah na Pogue) wa3 entirely in her clement, the studied interpretaticn of the part eliciting the warmest applause from all parts Of the house. Her soDgs, 11 The Dear Liitie BbamoQk," " Kdlarney,” and the "Wearing tf the Green," were well received, encores being insisted on. Miss Esther Dalroy made the most of the obartcier of Foggy O’Doon, whilst Miss May Howard played well as Kitty Walsb. Mr Alfred Rice was a splendid Colonel O’Grady, and throughout the evening never lost an opportunity to score a punt. Mr T. A. Holdsworth played with his usual succes’, aod although in the simewhat unpopular part of Michael Feeney, he gained the good opinion of the house for his clever act’ng. Mr R. H. Clatk was quite at homo as Shaun the Po t (\ true Irish boy), whilst Mr James Alexander made an excellent Beamish McCoul. The other members of the company aJ did tbeir share towards the sueo )sa cf tho piece. The mounting and drsssing of the drama was all that could fce dtßired, whilst tho musical portion of the programme was also of a high order.
