MAN AGED 80 TAKES Hlg LIFE

(Per Press Association-) Napier, last night,

The body of William White, a pork butcher, reported missing under circumstances suggesting suicide, was found in a drain near where his horse and cart were found.

Nelson, laßt night,

Wm Hounsell, aged 80, a very old settler, a gardener, cut his throat with part of a scythe last night. He is not expected to recover. He had been very restless lately, and when he hoard of the death of Mr Henry Edwards, for whom he had worked, he said to his wife “I won’t be very long now.” Hounsell has a large family of sons and daughters scattered over the colony, notably in Takaka, WaDganui, Blenheim and Nelson, but is no relation of the other well-known Hounsell family of Nelson.
