Melbourne, May 8 A statement is made here that all the leading New South Wales players, including every man who played in inter-State cricket last year, have signed an agreement with the Melbourne Club to play wherever asked and against any English team the Club may bring out Toe Northt-' and Southern Associations of i||jg: mania agreed, without accepting ajfflf financial responsibility, to join thl Melbourne Club in asking Marylebono to send a team. In the event of Marylebone declining, it is stated that the Melbourne Club will ask some of the leading players to bring a team.
A SYDNEY THREAT.
Received 11.31 p.m., May 8. Sydney, May 8. It is understood that the executive of the New South Wales Cricket Association has decided, in the event; of the Melbourne Club bringing anf English team, to block matenes ijff Sydney and disqualify New Wales players playing against EngliS&r men in Sydney or elsewhere. Tho Association will give players who promised their services to' the Melbourne Club a chance to withdraw*’ before taking the extreme step. A meeting of the Association will bo held to-morrow to discuss the executive’s decision.
