The average prices were 4|d and 4g-i for Canterbury and other than Canterbury brands respectively. The beef maikst was quiet, with no change in pr'oes to report. The butter market is quiet, but firm, with a fair demand forthu

better grades. Supplies are increasing from Ireland and Siberia. 1 The average price for choicest New Zealand butter today was 101 s per owt., Australian 965, Argentine 965, Danish 105 s, S berian 96s per owt. The cheese market is a shade weaker. White made 60s per cwt. There* is a small supply of colored on hani,v which is quoted at 65a per cwt. There" is,, no change in tho price of hemp, and the market is quiet for spot lots. There is a better demand for distant deliveries.
