The necessity of the speedy/ _- t:'oo of the road from Gksboft?f~ Waikaremoana, via Haogaroa, is evi day being further evidenoed, and it hoped that the local agitation will res in a considerable sum briDg votect for work during the coming session. This woik is regarded 1 farmers of both provinces as next in in portance to the completion of the,." Maio Trunk railway, and it is p <Araeg hoped the Government will regard »t matter as urgen r , and have tbe work J in hand without delay. I would also oa your attention to the great difference i prices for sheep realised at the Giebon: sales in February last a 9 compared wit those obtained at Ohaupo, Waikato, ,-t the latter place the prices averaged fol half sb much again as those at Gisborn This was undoubtedly due ohic-fiy to th absence of a good stock route between to two districts. Wo tru-t you will see you way to have this work commenced wit:*out any delay, and by its completion,' fer a great boon on the farmers of provinces —Your faithfully, E. B®| man, Hon. Secretary.” 1 '
