TE RANGI PAI.
HIS MAJESTY’S TO NIGHT,
That there will be a great house at His Majesty’s to-night to welcome home Mrs Howie is a foregone conclusion, for it will only be a fitting tribute to the liigh position won for herself in the musical world. To Rangi Pai’s reception at tho Town Hall, Wellington, last month was a veritable triumph for a native born artiste. The Wellington Post says: —‘‘Te Rangi Pai’s return last I evening was (quite a triumph. As a matter of fact, when the Premier and the small party accompanying him arrived, the management had to make I what may be called a scratch provision for their accommodation. The feature of the concert was Te Rangi Pai’s singing of Sullivan’s “ Lost Chord.” In this solo she had the support of an organ accompaniment, splendidly played by Mr Cyril Towsey. Te Rangi Pai’s singiDg of the noble melody will be long remembered Ry those who wore privileged to hear it.”
