Obinemuri was struck I by a bugo sea when towing tbo Rivor I Huntor into Wbangnpe. Her steering I gear was carried away. Tho tow-lino was I out to save tho steamer. Tbo River I Huntor was thon driven on to tbo rocks I with tho boavy sea. Sho is a total wreok. I Tho osptaiu and crow landed with greut I difficulty. I
The River Huntor, a steel barquonlino cf 815 tons register, was a woll-knowu ooal trader between Gisborne and Newras le, taking back loads of timber from northern ports to Byd> ey. Sho was purehasid about nine months ago by Captain Obrisp. Tbero was an insurance of £I6OO at L'nyd’s, while the vessel was valued at £BSOO.
