A CELEBRATED ENTERTAINER,
Humor, laughter, fuo, end merriment ere said to be (be ingredients supplied by that excellent purveyor to all mankind, Mr R. G. Knowles, during the course of bis new monologue show, opening at His Majesty Theatre this evening for a season of three night. Mr Knowles, as he px--1 preeses it, oonduots bis audience round the world and back again on a wave of laughter. The old world press oonsider he has hit upon a novel and happy idea, and that his brilliantly descriptive narratives are sure to enhance his already great re* putation, as one of the world’s foremost Laughter is one of Nlture’s beneficent tonics, and R. G. Knowles is described as beiog the true specific. Fori the performance to-night and Monday night a humorous conversation, “ Soogs and Storieß of the Stags,” n the main lever of the entertainment, but the great RG. will dance, will sing, and relate many of those stories for which be is famous. Tho distinction Mr Knowles claims for his entertainment, is that it is absolutely wholesome. Ho will take you a jolly jaunt in jovial oompany, and when at ten-thirty, he bids you farewell, he promises the regret will be distinctly on youi side. Butiness everywhere has been exoeptional, and his attracted theatre-goers end non-theatre-goers alike. The entertainment will be assisted by Mrs R. G. Knowles, a banjo manipulator of very rare ability, and beautiful moving and still pictures. There will be an entire ohange of programme Tuesday night, the final night of the season, entitled, “ Trifles that Trouble the Travel'er.” Box-plan and day sa!rs at Mr Miller’s. The performance to-night commences at 8 o’olock punotually.
