.(Pew Press Association.)' Christchurch, last night. Sydney Sanderson pleaded not guilty at Court this morning before Mr; H. W. Bishop, 8.M., to a charge of cruelly illtroating a horse by working him with open sores. Constable Gibson said the horse was at the police yard yesterday, and was drawing a load of brioks at-leas* 30owt in weight. His Worship examined the horse, and said it was absolutely dts* graoeful that a horse should ba worked in suoh a condition. He intended to inflict a substantial penalty, nor would ha allow muoh time in which to pay it, as he dii not wish if to bo merely a monetary obligation.
