THE EXHIBITION.

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. At a meeting of the local Advisory Committee of the Christchurch International Committee the report from subcommittee stated that a considerable number of manufacturers declined to exhibit, as the cost would be out of propor tion to any probable return. An adequate display, these firms said, would cost from LSOO to LIOOO. Fear was expressed that some who had app ied for space would draw back on account of the expense. Disappointment was expressed at the result, and it was derided to leave the allotment epsce in the Otago block to the Commissioner. So far 3,999 ft have been applied for. It was derided to apply to local bodies for funds.
