The Belgian training ship Conte Desmetdenayer, with 30 oadets aboard, bound for Australia, foundered in a gale in the Bay of Biscay. The captain and 33 were drowned. Twenty were saved, and are prooeediDg to Hamburg aboard the Frenoh barque Dunkerque Information regarding the disaster is refused.
