AND FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

.(Per Press Association.) Napier, last night. A case of considerable interest to friendly societies was decided by Mr Brabant, S.M., to-lay. The Dispinsary Society sued a member of the Oddfellows’ Lodge for the oost of oertain proprietary medicines supplied on a doctor’s prescription. Defendant held that under the lodge rules the dispensary was compelled to provide all medicines free, but the dispensary rules Bhowed an exception in the cißes of all patent medioinee. The Magistrate held that the dispensary rule was clear on the point, and gave judg ment for the amount claimed. An appeal will probably be made.
