Now Pijmoutb, last m'gbt. Most of the timber has been salved from the scow Warrior, ashore at Oakura. Wairoa, yesterday. Fine weather broke suddenly about 5 p.m. on Saturday. Rain, fell in torrents, followed by hail in places six inches deep. -Lightning flashed in huge sheets, and lit up the country from Waikaremoana mountains to the sea. Thunder crashed, and the rain continued on and oil till last night. The weather shows signs of clearing. No damage is reported. last night. The floods are now subsiding. The crops have suffered severely, and there is some loss of stock. Part of the Otautau line is under water, and there is a washout four chains long at | Ringway. At Wallacetown stock were saved by removing them to higher ground The Kingston line is under water for half a mile, and hundreds of sheaves have been carried down the river at Wallacetown. A young man named McLeod had to leave in his night clothes, and took refuge in a tree, where he remained for eight hours till he was rescued by a boat sent out from town.
