MAN DROWNED.

NEAR GIgBORNE WHARF.

A gruesome find was made about fifty yards below the Haiti bridge at 6.30 yester» day morning by Messrs H. E. Johnston and W. Scope. Near a schooner they noticed in the water.what proved dead body of John Barclay Clibboro, aged about 72. The old man had at oue time been an inmate of the Old Men’s Home. He was seen alive the previous evening at about 8 o’clock, prior to which be visi'.ed tbe Turanganui Hotel. He is said to have been quite sober when last seen.
