BOGUS FORMS.
A CANVASSER FINED.
(P«e Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. At the Police Court to day Francis James McCoffery, a'ias A. Morris, was oharged with dispensing printed paper on which tho name and plaoe of abode of the printer thereof was not printed. These documents, purporting to bo legal documents, wero sold to firms who thought they would be useful in bringing bad marks to book. Accused said he was a canvasser in Wellington, and had disposed of the forms not knowing he was doing wrong. It appeared that some of the forms were printed in Australia and some in Christchurch. A fine of £5 and coats, or 14 days’ imprisonment, was imposed, a obarge of forging a dooumeDt not being proceeded with. Oounsol for defendant pointed out that the printers wero liable, The law was broken daily. Those who distributed tracts, etc., wero breaking the law, but they wero not molested.
