OBITUARY.
(Per Press Association.) Thames, last night.
The funeral of the late Mr John McDonald, an old resident of the Thames, who dropped dead in Auckland, was large and representative. A'l local bodies wero represented, also Masonic Lodges. Looal bodies passed resolutions regretting the death, and sympathy with the relatives.
Tuesday's New Zealand Herald states : Mr John McDonald, 61 years of ago, a saiimaker, of the Thames, dropped dead yesterday morning at Reamers. The deceased had come to town to spend the holidays with his son, Mr Robert Me Donald, of the Newmarket workshops. As father and son were waiting for a car at the Brighton road a!opping-plao?, at Remuera, yesierdiy morning, the deceased staggered and fell to the ground. He was removed to St. Mark's sohoolroom, and Dr, Kiog was called ia and pronounced life extinct. For some time the deceased had been suffering from heart disease. Dr. KiDg gave a certificate of dsatb, and an inquest will not be held. Ttie deoeased was Beoretary of the Protestant Alliance, chairman of the Kanasranga School Committee, aDd a member of the Lodge of Light, having held the positioa of tyler for » number of years.
