SEVENTEEN MEN RESCUED FROM 81NKING BARQUE.

Bydney, April 13. Arrived, tbe barque Swanhilda, 107 days oi t f om Coqa mbo. She met a series of gales, and was knocking about for a fortnight within 300 miles of Sydney. She arrived too late for her wheat charter.
Tbo ship Kalliope, from Hamburg, reportsfalling in with the Norwegian barque Servie, in the Bay oi Biscay, in a sinking condition. She sprang a leek. In the faoe of a heavy gale and high sea the Kalliope’s boat was launched. Makiog two trips it succeeded in refcuing the Borvia’s orew, soventeen all told. Singly they jumped overboard, a life line being attached, and were drawn, half drownod, into tho boat. Tbe Ehip-wreeked men were landed at Madeira. The Servia, whioh .was in ballast, was subsequently .seen by a passing vessel, floating with tbe perl guowale under in laiitude 40 north 'oogitude 12 west.' All sails were bent and tbe spars io proper order. The Kalliope bad a stormy time, Her sails were blown away.
