Christchurch, last night. At his Rangiora mtosiug last nigut the Premier said he would indioate the direo-t-ion in which reductions were contemplated.
There would bo a reduction of 3s per owt in sugar, whioh meant a saving of £69,058 to the people of the colony. The remission of the duty on dried fruits aooounted for another £2500. Maizma and cornflour, £1495. P-titoes, £3255. Cotton goods 20 per oent., £15,549, Forfar and linens, eto., £6404. Tobacco from 3a fid to 3s 2d -£131,165,
