Tbe Premier this morning discussed with the Nrrth Canterbury Hospital Board the Government proposal to pay Boards £25 per annum per bead to train nurses. Mr Ssddop stated that tbe desire of the Government was to place nursing ekill at the dis.poFal of all perple, and that many more hurses were required. Iho Board replied that it was already training sixteen probationers, and could not provide work for more. It wouli be willing to assist the Government if possible.

A home for incurables wa3 mentioned, and the Premier stated that the Board could not draw any line of distinction between curable and inourable oases. Both required treatment and attention, and should receive these from the hospital authorities. If the hospital accommodation was not sufficient, then the Government should bo asked to assist in extending the buildings.
