Sydney, April 9.

The Secretary of ibe Proprietary mine reports an inburst of gas at the 400 feel level, supposed to have been caused by a fail in the vicinity of tho fire, whioh is Btill smouldering. One man was killed and another is believed to bo lost. Private advices state that many men are badly effected by gas. There arc no details.
