There was a large aid enthusiastic gathering at the Theatre Royal last evening on the occasion of the reopening of the Elite Skating R nk, and the keenest I interest was taken in the proceedings, I The floor was in splendid order, and the general arrangements made for the comfort of sksters and visitors reflected the utmost credit on the management. Some 1 excellent rinking was witnessed by the I spectators, the ladies showing a much greater degree of proficieooy than the men. Exoeilent music was contributed by the City Band. The rink will be open this afternoon, for children particularly, and a'so in the evening, when it is expected there will be a large attendance. There will bo a late train fer Te Karaka, leaving the Qisborne station at 10.30.
