A man known as Riley, whose real name is Sexton, wont to his lodgings, accompanied by Rose Arnold, a barmaid, who is a friend of his landlord. The girl went up to his room. Tho occupants of the house heard several shots. Tho door of tho room was locked. Looking through the window the owner saw the girl lying on the floor, and the man looking out into tho street, calmly smoking a

cigarette. Then further firing was heard,

7he police arrived and found the woman with four bullet wounds and her head almost severed by a razor cut.

The man was lying by her side with a bullet wound in the jaw, and his throat cut, but he was alive. He confessed to the act.

Jealousy is supposed to be the cause.

The murderer’s condition is very critical.
