SHEEP FAIR
(Par Press Association.) Oamaru, last night. The ram and ewe fair was held today. There was a large attendance and big entries. It was the best lot of sheep seen here for many years, nearly all being Border Leicester. There was a good demand for this class. Flock rams sold up to G]guineas. The average figure was ■Q guineas. English Leicesters were neglected, and were passed at 3.] guineas. For Oamaru the prices were very good. Stud rams sold to 171guineas.
Later.—At the ram fair to-day a large number of rams were offered, mostly Bordor Leicesters, for which there was the keenest demand. Only two studs were offered, entered by Little Bros. A Border Leicester fetched 17} guineas, and an English Leicester 7A guineas. Flock Border Leicesters fetched from 3 guineas to 6} guineas. The sale was a good one, and a considerable number of rams were sold.
