(Per Press Asnooiation.) Dunedin, last night. At the annual meeting of the Otago Rogby Union the Voluntierßittalion dub and Port Chalmers club wore rcis;d to the rank of seniore. Mr A. C. Hanlon was eleoted president. It was suggested that the Urnon should again send dele eatfs to tbo meeting of the New Zialaod Union, tho harmonious relations which had prevailed during tho year being attributed to that being done list year. ChrUtoburob, Friday.

The annual report which is to come before the Canterbury Rugby Union stet.e that the finanoiai position of the Uoion is by no means satisfactory. The gate receipts for the year show a deoided falling off from those for 1904, mainly due to the wretched weather experienced duriog the latter part of‘tbeo season. The Wellingicn match, when tho weather was exeorable, and a mere handful of spectators wete present, resulted in a loss cf about £2O, ios ead of the usual profit of about £IOO, and tbo season’s working had reduocd the union’s credit balance from £832 to £24. This includes £250 advanoed to the New Zaalaud Rugby Uoion towards sending the New Zealand team Home, and this amount will be refunded ; but even then the loss on the season’s working will reach £3O. Tip tour cf the New Z aland team is referred t n , art*! this is natural'y followed by some remarks as to the now famcui £4 6s, conce/riog which j tho oommittse says : '■ l<±' ‘view of the near approach of Easter, when several clubs have important engagements with visiting teams, the money has been paid under protest, much sooner, than it otherwise would, in order that tip suspension may be removed. It is hoped that your representatives at the anouil meeting of I .ho New Zoa’and Rugby Uijion will have | ma'.ter thoroughly ventilfUeil”
