The total for the forty seventh week of the New Zealand Egg-laying Association’s oontest was 1,271, making the grand aggregate 88,014, and the weekly average per pen 12 71. The highest layings for the week were the Alexandra Poultry Company's white Rocks 27, Ashworth’s silver Wyandottes (Cbristohqrch) 26, Love’s silver Wyandottes (Ohristohurcb) 24, Mrs Edwards’white Rocks (Blenheim) 24. The order of aggregate now runs as follows First five pens coDs'efing of white Leghorns, H. Leger (Levin), 1,320 ; Brooks (South Australia),' 1,162; Marlborough A. and P., Association, 1,158; Jonathan Hodson (Blenheim),. : i;is7; Miiiß Mick Shaw (Blenheim), 1,146 ; Hockey’s brown Leghorns (Nelson), 116. The number of competitors now above 1000 is 16 Brooks has regained second place from the A. aud P. Association. On Wednesday last Brooks, tbo Association, aud Hodson worn on the same mark, eaoh being 1,152. The running for seoond plaoe is an excit'ng oontest.
