Whon the visitors went in they made a poor BtaDd, four being out for 32 runs, but Armstrong and McLeod then got together and carried the total to 140 before the rain caused ihe play to be suspended. Armstrong scored 72 not out, and McLeod 40 not out, both playing steady oriokst, and neither giving a chance. Vaughan scored 11 before Malone broke through bis defence, and the same trujadler also got rid of Mailer and Wilkinson, while Downes bowled Hansford.
