Three agreements arrived at between employers and employees without the intervention of the Court were adopted as awards yesterday, and this morning Mr Grosvenor intimated that the fellmongers’ dispute, in which evidence was taken yesterday, would doubtless be settled by a compromise covering all the branches of the trade. •> You ore quite a peace-loving community here,” remarked Mr Brown, a member of the Court. Mr Rosser stated that bo was pleased to see that the letterpress machinists were ' surged in the wave of conciliation pasoing over the Northern and Central diatriot. A conferenoe between the parties bad resulted in an agreement upon all poiots excepting wages. A further oonferenoe on Saturday would probably end in a complete agreement whioh the Court would be asked to aooept as an award. Mr Grosvenor stated that the bookbinders were prevented from settling their dispute owing to a small differenos with their employers. Mr Justice Chapman suggested that if the difiarenoe was only small -one of the parties m’gbt ooosult the Chairman of the Conciliation Board. )( H Everything is going on so well hore, added His Honor, •• that wo do not like to soe this spoiled by a small hitch.” Mr Grosvenor promised lo advise the employers to takb the course suggested.
