COMPENSATION CLAIMS.

The Transvaal War Compensation Commission examioed eighty-five thousand claims, aggregating sixty two million, be* sides two and a-half millions for military receipts. Of nine and half a million provided by the Imperial Government for the settlement of claims, five millions were allotted to the Orange Colony and tho balanoe to the Transvaal.
