A CHURCH DESTROYED,

Chriatchurob, last nightr All Saints’ Anglican Church at Prebbleton, was completely destroyed by fire early this morning. It was insured for £yoo. The (ffiea is not known. A ten-roomed house at Norwood, owned by J. Maddison, and occupied by L. H, Maddison, was destroyed by a fire. There was an insurance of £3OO in the Alliance on the buildiog, and £75 in the National on the effects.

Auckland, iast night. A oonfeotioner’s shop, occupied by Mrs Whelan, in Queen street, oaught fite last evening. Ten rooms at the rear of the shop were destroyed, with their contents, but the front portion of the shop esoaped injury. The exertions of the fire brigade prevented a disastrous fire, as the buildings are old, of wood, and a good wind was blowing.
