BANKRUPTCY.

A LARGE DEFICIENCY.

(Per Press Aseociation.) Christchurch, last night. The first meeting of creditors of P. H. Bruges, barrister and solicitor, was hold this afternoon. The statement showed : Unsecured creditors, £10,826 7s 7d, the net deficiency beiog £9078 19s Id. The bankrdpt in his sworn statement, said his professional earnings had always largely exceeded his private expenses Tbe financial part of his praotioe was controlled by the managing clerk, and ho was not aware of his involved position until laßt year, when be exeouted an assignment for the benefit of his creditors. After some discussion, during which it was stated that a public examination would be applied for, thß Bitting was adjourned until April tbe 2nd.
