A great eorsit'oa was oroated at Paeroa this aftornooo, when about half a hundred people, who wore in attendance at the Obincmuri Jockey Olub’s roots, wore at(aoked with ptomaim poisaniDg.. Amongst tho eatables supplied at the luncheon was potted toogaes. It is believed that this was the cause of tho attacks. Some of tho oases were most serious, end it was feared that there would be lobb of life.

Somo were attacked so seriously that thoy had to be carried into Paeroa on stretchers.

Tho hotels were for a time full of sick people. Thero was groat oxcitement as news spread, and considerable anxiety,

THOSE ATTACKED. Amongst thoßo attacked were : Sergeant McKinnon (Waihi). Detective Donorville. Detective Miller. Constable Beddek. Some policemen, Messrs Fielder, H, Busb, and Wallaoe (Paeroa) were also ill, but are now in a bettor condition. SERIOUS CONDITION. Mrs R. Montgomery. A. Montgomery.

Royal (Komata Valley), Moresby (Waihi), Miss McEnter (Thamep), Mrs E. Shaw, Fielder, Connolly (Karaogabafee), and a boy named Henderson were also altaoked, but are reported to be out of danger. Many were attacked, but there are no oasualtieß so far.
