TRAIN COLLISION.
FORTY KILLED: MANY INJURED AGONISING SCENES. PASSENGERS ASK TO BE SHOT. By telegraph, Press Ass'n, Copyright Rooeived 4.30 p.m , Ma v ch 18. New York, Maroh 17. Tho west-bound Oaliforoiau express collided with a looal train at Pueblo, Colorado. Forty were killed, fifteen of them being incinerated. Many were injurod. There were numerous thrilling rescues, but one man, wedged in a window writhing in flames, asked to bo shot. The roof, however, soon fell on his head, killing him. One of tho rescued saw his family of ten burnt. Another esoaped from the wreokage, exoept that his foot was pinioned. SeeiDg the flames approaching, he called for a hatohet, and desperately tried to sever his foot by dropping, when the flames over-* whelmed him. The oollieionooourred in a blizzard.
