I Tolago, lass night. Tho annual meeting o£ the Tolago 13ay Jookey Club was commenoed to-day, and will be continued to-morrow. Tho I weather was showery, but there was nevertheless a largo and representative attendance. Excellent arrangements had been made for the gathering. Mr J. A. Mcore officiated as judge, and Mr J. Cannon was starter. Mr J. P. Morris aoted as clerk of scales, Mr W. 0. Skeet totalisatoc steward, and Mr G. Dixon timekeeper. The Hauiti Brass Band were present, and added j greatly to the enjoyment of the meeting. Messrs Martin and Lucas were in charge of the totalisator, and were kept busily engaged. Mr W. F. 'Sinclair catered for the gathering in first olbbs style. The following are the results : First Handicap Hurdle Kaoe, of 85 sovs ; I If miles. ! Taniwha, 9.13 1 Morpdth (10.6) was the only other starter, but fell at the second hurdle, allowing Taniwha to win as he liked. Time, 8.45, On tito, £lls. Div., £2 18s. First Maiden Scurry, of 10 sovs ; 5 furlong?. ' Marangi 1 A.L.F 2 Toheraugi ... , 8 Ten started. Won easily by three lengths, Time, 1.9. On tote, £378. Divr., £4 . Is and £4 9s. Flying Bandioap, of 35 sovs ; 6 furlongs, Soultina, 8.5 1 Hiki, 7.13 ... 2 Tukapß, 7.6 3

Also ran : Waimaori 9.0. Maura was first into the home stretch, but Maranga oaught her after the distanoe was reached, and won by half a length- Time, 1,49. On tote £3BB, div £5 9s.
