Auckland, last night,

A young man named Georgo Hassett, aged 19, was arrested to-night on a charge of attempted murder of his father, Charles Hassett, an Imperial and old-age pensioner, 75 years of age. It is alleged that during a quarrel between Hassett and his wife, tbe son rushed into tha room and discharged a pistol at his father. Tho bullet entered bis bead just below the temple, and the father is now iu the hospital. His condition is uncertain.
